Chronic stress, limited mobility, and trauma all deeply impact the way we breathe and oftentimes lock us into patterns of shallow breathing.
In this video from my archives, we’ll explore diaphragmatic breathing to practice taking more space and expanding into a deeper, fuller pattern of respiration.
When we expand our breath, it’s not uncommon to feel more. A tight breath can be one of the ways we close ourselves off from our inner experience. So, if you notice yourself feeling more than just your breath as you move through this practice, that’s totally normal. As always, you can take more or less time with this practice than I do—feel free to adapt this to meet yourself where you are, today.
